THE RAW BEAUTY OF BESPOKE DESIGN

Time for Tea is not just a business. We are a team of creatives, and over the years our design studio has gained the reputation of "odd match makers" by matching objects from reclaimed and vintage elements to make something new and unique, but they feel as though they could always have been together. We combine our fascination with animism and human empathy with inanimate objects, breathing new life into discarded objects. Since we launched the studio in 2006, we have been commissioned to design several interiors and our designs have enjoyed international acclaim.

We try to rescue and reuse everything we find and give it a chance at a second life. Age has a way of leaving it´s marks. Imperfections not only create character, but help tell the story of that piece. Our customers do not come to our studios looking for perfection. Our customers are looking for those pieces that speak to them. They appreciate the flaws and respect the history of each piece. They look for the perfectly imperfect.

Each piece is carefully hand picked and has its own charm and personality. Our old tables, bookcases, cupboards and sideboards shows age and patina, while vintage and antique sofas, armchairs or chaise longes  takes on new life when individually unupholstered, re-upholstered or covered with custom made cushions and matresses made of antique striped linens, linen sheets, grain sacks or burlap, sometimes mixed up for added interest.

We work with a  selected team of skilled craftsmen  and restorers ready to design and constructing  all kind of bespoke  and exclusive stuff, ranging from furniture left in its original state or finished using traditional materials and techniques, decorative painting, feather and natural fiber filled matresses and cushions, upholstery,  antique doors turned into rustic tables or mirrors, pallets recycilng, and lamps.

See images below for samples. We will be pleased to give you a no-obligation quote for work to be carried out. Sales and consulting are available by appointment to designers, stylists, collectors, and anyone with a passion for antiques and unique design.
